School Tax Credit

Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or any other interested Arizona taxpayer:

The schools can use your help, and you can get a credit on your Arizona Tax Return. Would you like to reduce your Arizona Tax liability by up to $400 (if married, filing jointly), give that same $400 to Anthem K-8 School, and give it for the benefit of any child you choose, including your own child?

This is money that you already are liable for on your Arizona Income Tax Return. Do not confuse your liability with your balance due. You may be due a refund because you have overpaid your taxes, or you may have a balance due, but neither of these factors matter when calculating your Arizona Tax Liability. Look on line 20 of the Arizona 140 Form or line 22 of the Arizona 140A Form. What is the tax owed on your taxable income? This number is what can be reduced by the tax credit. The net result on your tax return will be to either increase the amount of your refund or decrease the amount that you owe.

How do you do this? To receive the dollar-for-dollar tax credit, you must give the money directly to FUSD #1, not to the booster club or PTA or other school supporting institution. You can, however, direct the money to be spent for any fee-based extracurricular activity or character education program. The District Office for FUSD #1 is located at 1000 S. Main St., Florence, AZ 85132; or mail your check to P.O. Box 2850 Florence, AZ 85132, and you will be mailed a receipt. CLICK HERE for additional information on the District website, or CLICK HERE to download the tax credit form.

Thank You for your support!

Drop off & Pick Up

If a parent or guardian wishes to accompany their child to the classroom he/she must provide a drivers license to the office personnel and be issued a Visitor’s Pass which is to be worn in plain view during the time the adult is in the building.  After the child has been delivered to the classroom the parent/guardian will return the Visitor’s Pass to the office before leaving the school.

When picking up a child after the school day, the parent/guardian must provide a drivers license at the parent pick-up location prior to getting the child. You will also need to sign your child/children out. Without appropriate identification no adult will be allowed to escort a child from the school.   Students will not be allowed to walk to the parking lot to meet their parent.

When picking up your child, please don't arrive to the designated area until 3:20 pm.  Please have your Name Plaque displayed in the front window of your vehicle.  To receive a plaque you need to show proper identification to the front office office.

Should you have questions or concerns concerning this procedure please contact the principal Mrs. Alisa.

In advance, we thank you for your cooperation and assistance in ensuring a safe environment for each of our children.

Beyond Textbooks

We would like to explain a new curricular program we have started to use in our district.  Each week essential standards are taught to our students.  Usually at the end of the week assessments will be given.  Based on the data, students will be placed into reteach or enrich groups. This can mean in 7 & 8 grades they could have a temporary schedule change.  Our goal is to have all students master the essential standards.  If your child comes home talking about being in the reteach group, it is okay.  This is to help support their learning.  Enrich groups are those students who have mastered the essential standard the first time.  This change will be a process of figuring out how it will work best for us at Anthem.  Our goal is to have all of our students being successful.  Your child’s teacher is working hard to implement this new program.  They are doing it because they care.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or myself.
